Ebenezer and the Bludgeons were a band from Baltimore, MD.
First time that I heard of this band was around the mid 80's. LDB was one of the earlier bands in the Houston area who discovered punk as a way to spread their thought about society and so it was Jerry Anomie who started the band due to lack of punkbands in Houston in 1978. Anomie had been released from Prison where he was for the possesion of MARIHUANA !!! After visiting a gig by the Dead Boys and Iggy Pop, he knew what his future would be.... a musician in a punkband ! Anomie formed a band together with David Tolbert and Gwen Duke on guitars, Norm Cooper om bass and Craig Haynes on drums. It was a surprise to see how vocalist Anomie would appear on stage. Sometimes he wore a 3 piece suit, other times he stood behind the mike naked. Most of those gigs in the early days turned out into big fight and the band being kicked out og the venue. LDB played everywhere. Gay Bars, Lesbian Bars, they even played one time at a biker bar. LDB inspired many other youngsters to start their own band. We might say that LDB was a pioneering band in those days.
